Conte Could Head Back To Italy
Chelsea may end up having a management exchange this summer with Serie A side Napoli.
The Blues look set to part with Antonio Conte after just two seasons with the club. An announcement is expected following the final game of the season a week on Sunday.
Napoli are interested in Conte, but they will only make a move if Maurizio Sarri leaves at the end of the season.
Sarri is under contract until 2020, but he has yet to pen to paper on a new deal amidst rumours he could be on his way out of the club in the summer.
Napoli saw their hopes of capturing the Serie A title almost disappear last weekend with a 3-0 defeat at Fiorentina. It came just a week after a last-gasp win at Juventus put them within a point of their rivals for the Scudetto.
Sarri voiced his frustration with the state of Italian football as Juve close in on a seventh successive title. He may decide to chance his arm elsewhere this summer and Chelsea. If that happens then Napoli could turn to Conte as his replacement. The Italian saw his hopes of returning to international management disappear earlier this week with the job of head coach of the Italy national side set to go to Roberto Mancini. A job back in club management looks more likely with Napoli set to battle AC Milan for Conte’s services.
