Juve Ditch Bellerin Interest
Arsenal full-back Hector Bellerin won’t be a summer transfer target for Serie A side Juventus, The Serie A side have been linked with a move for the Spaniard, but Goal is claiming that Juve will instead concentrate their efforts in signing Manchester United full-back Matteo Darmian.
Reports earlier this week claimed Manchester United and Juventus were the two likeliest candidates to make a move for Bellerin at the end of the season. The £45million sale of the former Barcelona academy player would be put towards Arsene Wenger’s team rebuilding efforts this summer.
But Juventus are more likely to go for a player who knows Serie A. Darmian is such a player. He would also cost a lot less than £45million.
Barcelona and Manchester City have also been linked in the past with Bellerin. Barcelona were keen last summer, but they now look set to stick to their policy of not re-signing former players. City turned their attentions to Kyle Walker after being rebuffed by Arsenal over Bellerin.
Darmian has made just 13 first-team appearances for Manchester United this season and looks set to be sold.
Evans Set For Spurs Switch?
Arsenal could miss out on West Bromwich Albion central defender Jonny Evans.
The Northern Ireland international was linked with interest from the Gunners both last summer and in the January transfer window. However, the Baggies rejected a bid of £12million from Arsenal on transfer deadline day at the end of January.
Evans has a clause in his contract enabling him to move away from The Hawthorns for a fixed fee of just £3million this summer. He is likely to be keen on having that clause exercised if, as seems likely, West Brom are relegated at the end of the season.
Tottenham Hotspur are reported to be willing to pay Evans’ release clause. He could possibly replace Toby Alderweireld who looks set to be sold this summer.
