Arsenal completed the £56m signing of Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on transfer deadline day. The deal was the biggest in transfers worth £150m spent by Premier League clubs on Wednesday. Chelsea signed Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud for £20m and the west London club loaned Michy Batshuayi to Borussia Dortmund as Aubameyang’s replacement. Details here.

Arsenal failed in a £12m bid for West Bromwich Albion defender Jonny Evans. Full-back Mathieu Debuchy has left the Emirates for St Etienne on a free transfer.

Riyad Mahrez went missing from Leicester City’s squad for last night’s game with Everton. He was apparently depressed at the club’s rejection of a £65m bid from Manchester City. Talks will take place today between Mahrez and Foxes boss Claude Puel.

Manchester United were inactive on transfer deadline day. Full-back Daley Blind’s exit from Old Trafford for Roma was scuppered when United insisted on a permanent transfer. The Serie A side wanted a loan deal.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic looks set to leave Manchester United for LA Galaxy in time for the start of the MLS season in March.

Tottenham Hotspur signed Lucas Moura from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal worth £22m.

Crystal Palace failed in their bid to sign Lille defender Ibrahim Amadou. The 24-year-old arrived in London to finalise the deal but Lille refused to sell.

West Ham United signed signed striker Jordan Hugill from Preston North End for a fee of £10m. The Hammers saw their bid to sign Krasnodar striker Fyodor Smolov come to an end. The 27-year-old wanted to stay in Russia.

Swansea City re-signed Andre Ayew from West Ham United for a fee of £18m.

Southampton’s bid to sign £25m-rated winger Quincy Promes from Spartak Moscow broke down on deadline day. The Saints will try again in the summer.

Stoke City signed midfielder Badiou Ndiaye from Galatasaray. The Potters have paid £14m.

Liverpool full-back Jon Flanagan has joined Championship side Bolton Wanderers on loan for the rest of the season.
