Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admits he can give no guarantees that Philippe Coutinho will still be at the club when the January transfer window closes.

Coutinho continues to be the subject of interest from Barcelona with the Catalan side prepared to pay him a wage of £400,000 a week. Barca had three bids rejected over the summer.

But when asked what made him think the Brazilian international will remain with his club, Klopp tried to play down the prospect.

“I don’t think about it,” Klopp said at a press conference ahead of tonight’s Champions League decider with Spartak Moscow. “I think about the Moscow game.

“Not for one second have I thought about that so far. I am not unsure, I am not sure, I don’t think about it.

“I have a team to prepare and no-one knows what will happen in the nice and calm January transfer window.

“It’s nice from an outside view but I have absolutely nothing to say.”

Coutinho signed a new deal at Anfield little more than a year ago and that contract runs to 2020. It made him the club’s highest-paid player on wages of around £200,000 a week.
