Defender Out Until November
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed that central defender Shkodran Mustafi is out of action for four to six weeks after picking up a hamstring injury in Germany’s victory over Azerbaijan.
Mustafi went off after 36 minutes of the world champions’ 5-1 victory and Wenger confirmed that he won’t be back before the next set of internationals in November.
“We lost Mustafi for about four to six weeks. I don’t think he will be available before the next international break,” Wenger said at a press conference on Thursday morning.
“Ozil and Welbeck are back in the group in normal training.”
However, Wenger added that there could be one more casulaty.
“The minor problem we have is with Sead Kolasinac. We will check him today. He has a hip problem.”
Kolasinac played only 45 minutes of Bosnia-Herzegovina’s victory over Estonia on Tuesday and is a doubt for Saturday’s trip to Watford.
“I haven’t seen everybody because some players are coming back today, some even tomorrow like Alexis Sanchez,” Wenger added.
Earlier, Wenger admitted that Sanchez and Mesut Ozil could be sold during the January transfer window.
