Kroos Linked With Fresh Manchester United Speculation
Manchester United want Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos as part of any deal for David De Gea. That’s according to one report today.
Recent reports have suggested that Real are ready to revive their interest in De Gea although that interest would be the culmination of a chain of events. Real will only make a move for De Gea once Keylor Navas has been sold. The Costa Rican is wanted by Paris Saint-Germain and they will only move for Navas once they have finished bolstering other aspects of their squad.
But the Daily Mirror claims that United will demand Kroos as part of any deal.
The Germany international was a Manchester United transfer target in 2014 before he joined Real in a deal worth between £20million and £24million.
But Real are unlikely to part with Kroos. He is regarded as a key member of Zinedine Zidane’s side and started in 28 of the side’s 38 La Liga games last season.
Kroos signed a new contract in October 2016 that could keep him at the Bernabeu until 2022. The deal was reported to be worth around £350,000 a week making him the highest-paid German footballer in the world.
Meanwhile, Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero has signed a new four-year deal with the club. The 30-year-old has made 28 appearances for United in two years since his free transfer from Serie A side Sampdoria in 2015. However, only six of those appearances have come in the Premier League.
Manchester United are being linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain right-back Serge Aurier. The 24-year-old is likely to leave PSG this summer following the arrival of Dani Alves from Juventus.
Some outlets are suggesting that a United bid could be on the way for a player who was linked with a move to Old Trafford earlier this year.
But Aurier’s representatives have already opened talks over a move to Inter Milan who look set to pip their Serie A rivals AC Milan and Juventus to his signature.
Any United interest is pure speculation at the moment.
