Chelsea, PSG, AC Milan Keen On Aubameyang
Borussia Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke says his club will only wait for a few more days for any transfer bid to come in for Chelsea target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. But he claims not to have received any bids for the Gabon international.
Aubameyang is being linked with Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan, the club where he spent part of his youth. Chelsea were reported earlier this week to have been offered the 28-year-old.
But Watzke says that while Dortmund have always been prepared to talk about an exit for Aubameyang, he doesn’t want to be left trying to search at the last minute for a replacement.
“We said to him: ‘If you want to change somewhere and also have a club ready to meet our conditions, come to us and we talk about it’, Watzke told German newspaper Welt am Sonntag.
“We also told him, of course, that is only possible in a certain window of time, which closes soon.
“We must provide for a replacement solution, which is difficult or impossible.”
He added: “There are only a few clubs on this planet where he can earn much more.
“He has had four great years here and we have a very, very good relationship with him. But so far nothing is on the table. We can wait a few more days, but we will not wait a long time.”
Paris Saint-Germain were linked with a move for Aubameyang in June. However, they were reported at the time to have withdrawn from the deal and it was thought their interest was at an end. However, they continue to be linked.
AC Milan’s spending spree is heading for the £150million mark after they signed Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci. Their spending hasn’t stopped. Managing director Marco Fassone said in China on Sunday that the club are interested in signing one of Aubameyang, Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata or Torino’s Andrea Belotti.
Chelsea are also interested in Morata.
