Toffees Chasing Arsenal Star
Arsenal forward Theo Walcott is wanted by Everton. The Toffees are being linked with a £30million move for Walcott who started 23 Premier League games for the Gunners last season and was a substitute in five others.
Everton have already spent over £60million so far in this transfer window though they received £75million back from the sale of Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United.
But Toffees’ boss Ronald Koeman is rebuilding his Everton side despite the team finishing four places and 14 points better off last season compared to the 2015-16 campaign. So far this summer, he has brought in goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, midfielder Davy Klaassen and strikers Sandro Ramirez and Wayne Rooney. Now, the Sunday Mirror claims he wants Walcott, as well.
Koeman has been rebuffed in his interest in Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud. Rumours of a £20million bid have come to nothing and Arsene Wenger is keen for Giroud to stay with Arsenal.
Walcott still has two more seasons left on his current deal with Arsenal. His 19 goals in all competitions last season were his best return since the 2012-13 campaign. But he lost some momentum following a calf injury he picked up before Christmas. He failed to play a full 90 minutes in the league after the turn of the year.
