Arsenal To Beat Rivals To Kolasinac
Arsenal are hopeful over a deal for Schalke 04 full-back Sead Kolasinac.
Arsene Wenger on Thursday played down reports of a deal for the Bosnia-Herzegovina international who is out of contract at Schalke this summer and has been linked with a move to the Emirates.
“We can deny that story at the moment,” the Arsenal boss said at a press conference. “Nothing’s been concluded with anybody. I think it’s important we don’t talk about transfers but about the semi-final of the FA Cup.”
Kolasinac is believed to have undergone a medical two weeks ago at Arsenal’s London Colney training complex. But it is quite feasible that the deal will not be announced until the end of June when he becomes a free agent.
Serie A sides Juventus and AC Milan are also interested in Kolasinac and he has also been the subject of enquiries from Chelsea, Manchester City and Everton.
Jenkinson Set For Arsenal Exit
Arsenal have told full-back Carl Jenkinson that he can leave the club this summer. Newly-promoted Brighton are interested in the 25-year-old as are another club who look set to be playing in the Premier League next season, Newcastle United.
Jenkinson has made just one Premier League appearance for Arsenal this season. He looked set to sign for Crystal Palace in January only for the deal to collapse over personal terms.
Gunners Face Competition For Fornals
Arsenal are being linked with Malaga midfielder Pablo Fornals, but they face competition from one of the La Liga side’s rivals.
Fornals, 21, is a highly-regarded creative midfielder who has been with Malaga since he was 16. He made his first-team debut last season and has gone on to make 57 appearances for the side.
Scouts from the Emirates were reported in February to be keeping tabs on the midfielder who made his senior international debut for Spain in a friendly match with Bosnia-Herzegovina last May.
But AS newspaper in Spain says Valencia are preparing an offer for Fornals whose release clause stands at €20million (£16million).
