Manchester United are ready to trigger Antoine Griezmann’s £86m release fee with Atletico Madrid and have recruited Paul Pogba to help them sign the France international. United may have more luck with Griezmann’s Atletico team-mate Jose Gimenez who could be sold this summer. Manchester United will demand at least £66m from Real Madrid for goalkeeper David De Gea. There is no release clause in his contract at Old Trafford.

Manchester United are reported to have offered a deal of £140,000 a week to Napoli striker Dries Mertens.

Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez is wanted by Atletico Madrid.

Chelsea believe they will beat Manchester City to the signing of Southampton central defender Virgil van Dijk.
