Premier League Transfer News Sunday 19 March

Wenger, Ibrahimovic, Bakayoko. Sunday’s Transfer Rumours

Arsene Wenger says he has decided what to do about his future at Arsenal. However, there are reports today that he may sign a one-year deal rather than the two-year contract currently on offer.

Arsenal have joined Manchester United and Juventus in monitoring the Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko. The Gunners are also interested in Everton midfielder Ross Barkley. Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on the England international.

Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not be moving to Napoli this summer his agent Mino Raiola says.

Manchester United full-back Luke Shaw is being linked once again with a move away from the club. Stoke City, Crystal Palace and Newcastle United are being linked. United face competition for Benfica defender Nelson Semedo. Juventus, AC Milan, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan are also keeping tabs. Atletico Madrid midfielder and Manchester United transfer target Antoine Griezmann says it is up to the La Liga club whether or not he will move on this summer. Manchester United transfer news here.

Messi, Lukaku, Mendy, Silva

Manchester City could be in with a chance of signing Lionel Messi if he fails to agree a new deal with Barcelona. City are reported to have had talks with Benfica over goalkeeper Ederson. The Sky Blues are also being linked with a £50m move for Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci. That sounds unlikely given that he is 31 years old. Equally unlikely is a reported £30m move for Barcelona keeper Marc Andre ter Stegen.

Everton striker Romelu Lukaku will only be allowed to leave for a club playing in the Champions League. The Belgium international came to an agreement last summer with Everton. Chelsea lead the race for his signature.

Chelsea are preparing a £40m double bid for the Monaco duo of Benjamin Mendy and Bernardo Silva.

Liverpool are interested in the Borussia Dortmund forward Ousmane Dembele. But any bid for the 19-year-old is unlikely to succeed. Dembele has become a first-team regular since his move from Rennes last summer. The Reds are also interested in Roma defender Kostas Manolas but face competition from Arsenal and Manchester United.

Harry Redknapp is interested in the vacant manager’s post at Middlesbrough and in the job of coach of the Ghana national team.
