Depay Unhappy At Lack Of Game Time
Manchester United winger Memphis Depay is being linked with interest from Bundesliga side Wolfsburg. However, he insists that while he isn’t interested in a departure from Old Trafford he isn’t happy with his current situation.
Depay has played just 94 minutes of football for United so far this season with only 12 of those minutes coming in three substitute appearances in the Premier League.
According to the German newspaper Bild, Depay is a target for Wolfsburg who lie in 13th place out of 18 in the Bundesliga. The side have scored just four goals in six games – one of those was an own goal – and are looking to bolster their attacking options.
However, the Netherlands international wants to write off a disappointing first season with the club when there were grumblings at his performances and his attitude.
“I’d rather not talk about last season. I should have played better,” he told Metro Nieuws in Holland.
“I am the same person and I know what I want. A supporting role is not for me. I’m not a player who is just happy with the fact that he is under contract with Manchester United. This is my dream club, but I want to play.”
