No Italian Club Could Afford Zlatan – Raiola
Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic wanted to end his career with Serie A side Napoli, according to his agent.
The Swede signed for Manchester United in July four years after leaving Italian outfit AC Milan, but in an interview with the Naples radio station Crc, Mino Raiola declared that Ibrahimovic wanted to return to Serie A.
“Ibrahimovic told me that he could end his career in Napoli,” Raiola said.
“I do not mean that [Napoli president] De Laurentiis had called for Ibra. I do not like to talk about what was said to me.”
However, Raiola suggested that the chances of a return to Italy this summer were slim.
“What I can say is that no Italian club could afford Zlatan even though surely Zlatan has a Neapolitan mentality.”
Ibrahimovic signed a one-year deal at Old Trafford with the option of a second. He has five goals in his opening five games for Manchester United.
