Walcott To Leave Arsenal?
Arsenal forward Theo Walcott is being linked with an exit from the Emirates Stadium this summer. The England international has started just one Premier League game since the end of January and The Sun On Sunday claims he has become frustrated at a lack of opportunities.
Walcott still has three years left on his current deal with Arsenal. Liverpool have been linked with the 27-year-old and Arsene Wenger would have no option but to sell to a rival near the top end of the Premier League.
But that’s assuming the Arsenal boss decides to sell. Wenger said this week he is happy with his squad and while many take that to rule out wholesale signings it is also likely to exclude any major sales.
Arsenal Watch Spanish Duo
Arsenal are interested in the La Liga duo of Pablo Sarabia and Alvaro Vazquez. Both players are at bottom-of-the-table Getafe and the Spanish website Don Balon suggests that the Gunners have sent scouts to watch them on a number of occasions.
Sarabia, 23 is an attacking midfield player. Vazquez, 24, plays as a striker but with just 11 goals in 50 games over the last two seasons it’s difficult to see him being a target for the Gunners.
Don Balon claims Arsenal are hoping to snap up the pair for a combined fee of €18million (£14.4million).
Gunners In Xhaka Talks
Arsenal are in talks with Borussia Monchengladbach over a move for the Switzerland international midfielder Granit Xhaka. The 24-year-old has a release clause in his contract with the Bundesliga that allows him to leave for €30million (£24million). However, that only kicks in at the end of next season.
According to the Mail On Sunday, Arsenal only want to pay £20million for Xhaka. Borussia will only sell this summer if they can get more than the 2017 release fee and are demanding £30million.
