Arsenal full-back Mathieu Debuchy is a transfer target for Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen. The France international is known to be unhappy at having lost his place in the side to Hector Bellerin. He was an unused sub in Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Sunderland in the FA Cup.

Reports from Germany claim Bayer are keen to do a loan deal. The German club are in the market for a right-back. However, they face competition from Roma, Lyon and Aston Villa.

Debuchy is known to be keen on a return to France. However, a move to Roma could mean linking up again with Rudi Garcia. The pair worked together at Lille winning the Ligue 1 title in 2011.

Elneny Deal Could Be Announced Today

Meanwhile, Mohamed Elneny’s move to Arsenal could be announced as early as today. The Gunners are awaiting clearance from the Home Office over a work permit for the Egypt international. Elneny, 23, does not automatically qualify for a UK permit as Egypt are outside Fifa’s top 50-ranked nations.

Arsenal have been working on Elneny’s transfer since before Christmas. The Gunners will pay €10million (£7.4million) for the defensive midfielder who plays for Swiss side FC Basel. The size of the fee is interesting especially as Arsenal were only preparing to pay £5million. But the fee forms part of the work permit application. The higher the fee the more chance a player has of being granted a work permit.

Ramsey In Barca Link

Arsenal forward Aaron Ramsey was linked over the weekend with interest from Barcelona. However, the Gunners are unlikely to sanction any exit for the Wales international.

The Sunday Express claimed yesterday that the Catalan side was preparing to spend up to £50million on new players. But that goes against rumours coming out of Spain towards the end of last year. Those rumours suggested that Barca were struggling to raise the £13million to buy out Nolito’s contract at Celta Vigo.

Any notion that the European champions are preparing a bid for Ramsey can be safely dismissed.
