Manchester United ‘To Bid £50m For Harry Kane’

United Preparing Cash Plus Player Offer

Harry Kane Manchester United transfer newsHarry Kane may have pledged his future to Tottenham Hotspur and the club’s hierarchy insist he will remain with them next season, but that hasn’t stopped speculation over a Manchester United transfer bid.

Goal.com claims today that United are preparing a £50million bid for Kane and that Javier Hernandez, Nani or Adnan Januzaj will be thrown in as Louis van Gaal tries to sweeten the deal.

Kane stated last month that he wouldn’t be leaving White Hart Lane this summer. United have already been linked with a £45million bid.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino and chairman Daniel Levy were asked in a Facebook session last week that if they thought Kane would still be a Tottenham player at the start of next season. “Yes!”

So the chances of any deal succeeding are next to zero especially as Tottenham know all about the difficulties of selling a star player for big money and trying to rebuild their squad on their proceeds.

Any such deal also depends on the other players playing ball. Spurs will be keen on Hernandez, who is rated at £7million at the most and has been linked in the past with a move to the club. Similarly Nani, who would expect Tottenham to match his £90,000-a-week wages. Januzaj has had a poor season and has fallen down the pecking order under Louis van Gaal with his valuation tumbling as a result.

Kane scored 31 goals for Spurs this season – the first person to score at least 30 in a season since Gary Lineker. His 21 Premier League goals came at an average of one for every 123 minutes on the pitch.
