PSG Issue ‘Hands Off’ Reproach Over Marquinhos

Marquinhos Manchester United transferParis Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc has poured cold water over Manchester United’s hopes of signing Brazilian central defender Marquinhos.

United were linked on Saturday with Marquinhos, though there was nothing concrete or new in the report.

United are expected to make a bid of at least £30million for the 20-year-old Brazilian this summer, but Blanc says there is no chance of any bid succeeding.

“He has a spirit and a special kind of mentality,” said Blanc.

“We have everything to keep him and we will do everything we can to extend his contract

“He is a very good player on the flanks, he can also move to the side and in front of the defense. This is already a very good defender, he’s only 20 years old and too often we forget that. Like Adrien Rabiot, he represents the future of PSG. ”

£54m Pogba?

The latest report about another young Manchester United target, Paul Pogba, is that he could be the subject of a ‘money new object’ bid from Real Madrid.

The Sunday Mirror makes the claim, although reports from Spain and France are eyeing up a move for Pogba based on his capabilities of bringing in marketing and sponsorship income.

Pogba is expected to quit Juventus this summer, just three years after moving to the Serie A side on a free transfer from Manchester United.

Mino Raiola, the agent of the France international has put a price tag of some €100million on Pogba, but the International Centre for Sports Studies estimates his value at €72million (£54million).

That makes him the fifth most valuable player in the world at present behind Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Eden Hazard and Diego Costa. The valuation takes into account factors such as his age, the length of his contract, performance on the pitch at both club and national team level, and also more variable parameters such as the impact on social networks.

But L’Equipe in France claims the sponsorship value of Pogba would increase greatly if he quit Juventus for one of the bigger European clubs. The paper claims Pogba would command a sponsorship deal worth €4-5million (£3.2-4million) from the likes of Adidas and Nike – similar to deals commanded by Gareth Bale and Neymar.
