Kingstonian keeper Rob Tolfrey has landed himself in trouble after getting in a fight after a match – with his own fans.
The incident happened at the end of last night’s Ryman League match with Bognor Regis. Tolfrey – obviously taking exception to comments made towards him during the match by supporters behind the goal – vaulted into the terraces and began to grapple with a supporter.
Players from both sides, along with stewards, jumped in to break up the melee and the Metropolitan Police were called. No arrests were made.
Kingstonian lost 2-1 in a match in which they took the lead in the first half.
Tolfrey, 27, has been with Kingstonian since 2009 and is the club’s regular first-team goalkeeper. He had made 44 league and cup appearances for the side this season after being part of the team that reached the Ryman League play-offs last season.
