Torres Return To Atleti Would Be ‘Wonderful’ Says Burgos

Fernando TorresAtletico Madrid assistant manager German Burgos says it would be ‘wonderful’ if Fernando Torres returned to the club.

The Spanish striker is currently on loan at AC Milan from Chelsea, but he has scored just once in ten Serie A appearances for the club and hasn’t featured in the side since the Milan derby clash with Inter at the beginning of November.

“I do not want anything my opinions to interfere with anything, but it would be wonderful,” said Burgos.

Torres spent six seasons in the first team at Atletico and scored 91 goals in 244 games before moving to Liverpool for £22million in 2007. His record at Anfield was even better with 81 goals in 142 games, but a £50million move to Chelsea in 2011 coincided with a slump in form from which he has never really recovered. He scored just 45 goals in 172 games for the west London side before being loaned to Milan last summer.
