Bale In Manchester United Transfer Link
Rumours from Spain have claimed in recent weeks that Bale and Karim Benzema are likely to be sold next summer as Real Madrid eye up an ideal front three of Sergio Aguero, Marco Reus and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Manchester United were linked with Bale in the summer of 2013, but their interest was soon brushed aside as the Wales international made it clear to United that he wanted to join Real Madrid. But he may be jettisoned after just two seasons with the European champions as Real look to revamp their front line.
The Sunday Express claims today that United are prepared to break the world record transfer fee by offering £80million for Bale next summer.
The paper claims that Bale wasn’t averse at the time to a move to Old Trafford – not true as he had his heart set on a move to the Bernabeu – and he is ready to move back to England.
The Welshman was on target last night for Madrid as they defeated Argentine side San Lorenzo, 2-0, in Marrakech to secure the Club World Cup, their fourth trophy of 2014.
Real are set to make a move for Manchester City striker Aguero next summer along with Borussia Dortmund forward Marco Reus.
The Germany international is likely to make the move to the Bernabeu with Real preparing to activate his £20million release clause.
Aguero is likely to be tougher to recruit with Manchester City ready to stand in his way, a point they made to his representatives on a number of occasions when he was linked with an exit from the Etihad last summer.
