Odegaard has spent the past few weeks touring some of Europe’s top clubs, checking out their facilities and training with some of their players. He was at Liverpool last month and has also been spotted at Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Ajax and, earlier this week, there was a last-minute trip to Arsenal.
But Aftenbladet in Norway claims Odegaard’s father, Martin – who represents his son as well running the family fashion business and acting as assistant coach at newly-promoted Mjondalen – has told Bayern Munich not to expect a decision before the end of the year. Marca newspaper in Spain claims Real Madrid have been asked for more time before Odegaard makes a decision.
Earlier this week there the suggestion that Odegaard had chosen Bayern. That doesn’t necessarily seem to be the case. So Liverpool and Arsenal are still in with a shout.
Jostein Flo, the sporting director of Odegaard’s current club, Stromsgodset, refused to speak to reporters on the matter on Wednesday. It seems that one of Europe’s top young talents is keeping the continent’s big clubs on tenterhooks for a little while longer.
