Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky has trolled Manchester United’s Robin van Persie by making reference on Instagram to the Old Trafford club’s lack of Champions League football this season.
Rosicky – a former team-mate of van Persie when the latter was at Arsenal – posted an image of one of the tickets from the inside of the balls used by Uefa for the draw. The ticket had ‘Not Man United’ printed on it.
As of early this afternoon the image had picked up over 7000 ‘likes’ on Instagram. However, Rosicky ought to be careful. Manchester United’s 3-0 victory over Liverpool put them in third place in the Premier League. That’s three places ahead of Arsenal who currently lie in sixth place, two places and two points off one of the Champions League spots.
Arsenal were given about as kind a draw as they could wish for in the knockout stages of this season’s competition. The Gunners have been drawn against French side Monaco in the round of 16 stage.
The Ligue 1 outfit have a similar record to Arsenal this season. They lie in sixth place in the league with 29 points from 18 games.
