Benzema In Manchester United Transfer Link
According to the Daily Express, ‘sources in Spain’ are claiming that Real coach Carlo Ancelotti is willing to listen to offers for the 26-year-old Frenchman. That’s despite Benzema signing a new contract at the Bernabeu earlier this season. The paper adds that while Ancelotti isn’t desperate to sell the 26-year-old Frenchman he will listen to any attractive offers.
But as ever with the Express’s ‘sources’ they are hard to pin down and these reports certainly aren’t appearing in the mainstream Spanish media. As such they should be taken with a very large pinch of salt.
United have been linked previously with Benzema. At the end of last season speculation linked both United and Arsenal with a move for the Real striker. That was until he signed a new contract at the Bernabeu.
Benezema has been in good form for Real this season. He has scored eight goals in 11 La Liga games as an average of one goal for every 109 minutes on the pitch. That compares with 17 goals in 35 games last season – 24 in 54 games when Champions League and Copa del Rey games are taken into consideration.
That doesn’t sound like the kind of form that Carlo Ancelotti wishes to part with. The Italian is being linked with a move for Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero, but any approach for the Argentine won’t take place until the summer at the earliest and is likely to meet with a ‘hands off’ warning from the Etihad.
Sinkgraven Hints At January Exit
Manchester United transfer target Daley Sinkgraven has confirmed that he is open to a January move away from Dutch side Heerenveen.
The 19-year-old midfielder has been watched by scouts from Old Trafford on a number of occasions this season and rumours abound over a bid from United.
The problem for the Red Devils is that Sinkgraven is edging towards a move elsewhere in Holland. He has his sights set on a possible switch to Dutch champions Ajax. United are rumoured to have offered Sinkgraven the opportunity of a transfer now but with a loan back to Heerenveen until the end of the 2015-16 season.
“Could a transfer happen this winter? Yes, it could, if there is real interest”, Sinkgraven said. But he added:
“Who is there? I don’t know. I heard about Ajax, but I don’t know anything about the other clubs that have been mentioned.”
Arsenal and Liverpool are also believed to be interested.
