Sissoko On Arsenal Transfer Radar

Moussa Sissoko Arsenal transferNewcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko could be an Arsenal transfer target as the Gunners look to replace Jack Wilshere over the next three months.

England international Wilshere underwent an ankle operation on Thursday and manager Arsene Wenger is looking to boost his squad with a replacement during the 22-year-old’s enforced absence.

The Sunday Times claims that Sissoko is an Arsenal target. The 25-year-old moved to Newcastle for an undisclosed fee in the summer of 2013. He was linked with interest from both Liverpool and Monaco during the close season but Newcastle dug in their heels and refused to let him leave.

Arsenal were monitoring the Frenchman as long ago as 2011 and those rumours have been revived with Wilshere’s absence. However, Arsene Wenger is likely to encounter the same resistance to a move that Liverpool did from Newcastle during the summer.

Mings In Fresh Arsenal Link

Ipswich Town defender Tyrone Mings is once again being linked with an Arsenal transfer move in what appears to be an almost weekly rumour.

This time it’s the Mail On Sunday which claims that Arsenal will make an £8million move for Mings should they miss out to Manchester United in the race for Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels.

However, Hummels is unlikely to quit Dortmund before the end of the season. The Mail claims Dortmund are holding out for £32million for the Germany international. But despite their poor domestic form the German side are through to the knockout stages of the Champions League and Hummels is likely to remain with Dortmund for the remainder of the campaign.

Where that leaves an Arsenal transfer move for Mings is anybody’s guess. The Gunners are known to be keen on the youngster and have been linked extensively with a January move.

McCarthy In £16m Arsenal Transfer Link

The same outlet claims that Arsenal are ready to make a £16million bid for Everton midfielder James McCarthy. The Republic Of Ireland international only moved to Goodison Park in a £13million transfer last summer and has been linked with interest from a number of clubs.

However, Everton are likely to dig their heels in over a possible move, at least at the price currently being quoted. The Toffees are believed to be holding out for at least £20million for the 24-year-old.

Chicharito Could Be Summer Arsenal Transfer Target

An Arsenal transfer bid could be made next summer for Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez, who is currently on loan at Real Madrid.

The Mexico international has played little more than 300 minutes of football this season in all competitions and Real are expected to scrap an option to purchase Hernandez next summer.

Arsenal are believed to be interested in a move for the 26-year-old though they will face competition for his signature from Premier League rivals Liverpool and Tottenham.

Premier League Duo Linked With Campbell

Finally, The Sun On Sunday claims that Everton will battle with West Bromwich Albion in January in the race to sign Arsenal striker Joel Campbell.

The Costa Rica international has been linked with a loan move away from the Emirates after failing to impress Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

Italian side Inter Milan and Turkish outfit Galatasaray are also being linked.
