Manchester United Transfer Target Told Not To Attend City Game

Kurzawa Watched Match In Manchester Hotel

Layvin Kurzawa Manchester United transferA Manchester United transfer bid could be on its way in January for Monaco left-back Layvin Kurzawa.

The 22-year-old was linked with interest from United earlier this month when it was claimed that exploratory talks had already begun over a deal for the £12million-rated defender.

Those talks appear to be a little premature, according to French newspaper L’Equipe. The paper claims that Kurzawa was invited to the Champions League match between United’s local rivals Manchester City and Bayern Munich on Wednesday. The invitation came from City who are also keen on him.

Kurzawa flew to Manchester but received a call during the afternoon from the Monaco hierarchy ordering him not to go to the Etihad. He ended up watching the match on TV at his hotel.

Earlier this month, Kurazawa told BeIn Sports that United was the club of his dreams and that it was his desire to play there one day.

United scouts have watched Kurzawa in action on a number of occasions so far this season and TalkSport speculates that a bid could be on its way from Old Trafford. Whether or not the bid could come in January remains to be seen given Ed Woodward’s insistence that any big purchase in the winter transfer window could be seen as a “short-term fix”.

Kurzawa’s words of any dream move to United should also be taken with a pinch of salt given with the haste in which he travelled to Manchester to speak to City.

L’Equipe claims that talks involving Kurzawa and his representatives are expected to take place with United in due course with Monaco apparently in the mood to sell.
