Italian Giants Still Keen On Podolski and Schar
The 29-year-old Germany international has made just four Premier League appearances – all off the bench – for a total of 46 minutes league football so far this season. That’s despite Olivier Giroud’s three-month absence through injury.
Podolski has also been an unused substitute on five other occasions.
Italian newspaper Tuttosport claims Juventus are keen to bring the striker in on a loan for the second half of the season. However, the paper adds that Arsenal will expect an offer in hard cash and will refuse to sanction a temporary move.
Arsene Wenger has already ruled out a move away from the Emirates for Podolski and recently said of his plight. “All this transfer speculation is not considered at all. We are all on board to get results and Podolski will be part of that.”
Inter Milan and Galatasaray are also said to be interested.
Juventus are also keen on Arsenal transfer target Fabian Schar. The FC Basel central defender is out of contract at the end of the season and was linked earlier today with a January move to the Emirates.
Tuttosport claims that Basel are looking for a transfer fee of €10million (£8million) despite Schar having little more than six months to run on his current deal.
Juve have already ruled out a move at such a price.
