Summer Exit For Arsenal Transfer Target Schneiderlin

Koeman Hints At Schneiderlin Exit

Morgan Schneiderlin Arsenal transfer newsArsenal’s pursuit of Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has been given hope after Saints boss Ronald Koeman suggested the Frenchman may well quit the club.

Arsenal saw a £15million bid for Schneiderlin turned down by Southampton in last January’s transfer window. He has since been linked strongly with a move to Tottenham Hotspur where he would link up with former Saints boss Mauricio Pochettino. Southampton put the skids on that move during the summer following departures for the likes of Luke Shaw, Dejan Lovren, Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert.

But while the official line from Southampton has always been that Schneiderlin will remain with the club, manager Koeman has hinted for the first time that an exit could be on the cards.

“Keeping Morgan here will not be easy. We will have to see what happens,” Koeman said at a press conference ahead of Monday night’s trip to Aston Villa.

Schneiderlin is expected to remain with the Saints at least for the rest of this season. Speculation still links him with a January move but a summer exit looks more likely.
