Keeper Set For Norway Return?
Lindegaard saw his hopes of making first start of the season replacing dashed when David De Gea recovered from a dislocated finger to take his place in the starting line-up for last night’s 2-1 victory over Arsenal at the Emirates.
Nyland, 24, recently signed a new five-year deal with Norwegian side Molde and the Sunday People claims United are willing to offer Lindegaard as part of a deal for Nyland.
Lindegaard knows Norwegian football well and was with Aalesund before his Manchester United transfer in 2010.
This speculative report fails to take into account any possible United interest in former Barcelona keeper Victor Valdes. The Spain international has been training with United and is expected to sign a contract with the Red Devils. Presumably, any move for Nyland as well as Valdes would see the Spaniard operate as De Gea’s understudy with Nyland as third-choice keeper.
