United were linked with Miranda during the summer, but Atletico pointed to his £24million release fee and the chance of a move had gone.
Fichajes speculates that the emergence of young central defender Jose Gimenez may see Atletico decide to sell Miranda. But two factors look set to scupper any deal for Miranda.
First of all, he has now turned 30 – beyond the age at which United tend to offer anything more than a one-year deal.
Secondly, despite the emergence of Gimenez, Miranda is still very much the first choice at Atletico with 10 La Liga starts under his belt.
An exit for the Brazilian looks unlikely.
