Giovinco is out of contract next summer and is out of favour at the Serie A champions. He has started in just two Serie A games so far this season and been a substitute in two others and his agent last month hit out at Juve for delaying talks about his future.
“I’m not happy, I have to play more,” Giovinco said after last night’s international victory for Italy over Albania. “Rest assured I will stay at Juventus, where I have my space.
“There’s something that is not quite right, that’s obvious. It’s a strange season for me and we will see what we can do.”
Giovinco’s agent Andrea D’Amico said recently that he was puzzled over Juventus’s refusal to talk about a new deal. “I don’t understand how [Juventus CEO Beppe] Marotta and Juve could decide to lose a fantastic player who is just 27 years old like Giovinco for zero euros.
“Sebastian has no intention to extend only to be sold.”
Arsenal were reported last month to be interested in Giovinco. However, the Italian’s goalscoring record isn’t great. Since his arrival from Parma in 2012 he has scored just 18 goals in a total of 127 appearances for the club.
