Bender Back On Arsenal Transfer Radar
Bender was the subject of a failed £19million bid from Arsenal during the summer of 2013 and there were rumours before the start of this season of a possible move from the Gunners.
The Daily Express claims there could be a renewed effort to snap up Bender is January after reports that Khedira is in talks over a new deal at the Bernabeu.
However, Bayer are doing well in the Champions League and need just two points from their final two games to be mathematically sure of a place in the knockout stages. With that in mind they are unlikely to part with Bender. With him having played in all four of their Champions League games so far this season he wouldn’t be eligible for Arsenal should they qualify for the round of 16.
A successful Arsenal transfer bid for Bender looks unlikely in January.
Kramer Hints At Premier League Move
Arsenal have also been linked with midfielder Christoph Kramer. Whilst the 23-year-old is also a Bayer Leverkusen player he has yet to make a first-team appearance for the club and will complete a two-year loan spell at Borussia Monchengladbach this summer.
Kramer is then expected to be transferred and has been linked with Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur as well as Real Madrid.
“I would not be afraid of it,” Kramer said of a move to England.
Reid Set For Hammers Exit
A more likely Arsenal transfer move is for West Ham United defender Winston Reid. The 25-year-old is out of contract at Upton Park at the end of the season and has rejected the Hammers’ offer of a new deal worth £45,000 a week. He’s looking for £60,000.
Reports today suggest that Reid will be sold in January if he hasn’t signed a new deal by the end of the year. Arsenal will be monitoring the situation – as will Premier League rivals Manchester United who are also said to be interested.
