Henriquez Set for Loan Spell
Manchester United are looking to send Chilean striker Angelo Henriquez on loan to a Championship side. The 18-year-old moved to Old Trafford at the end of August in a £3.5million transfer from the Universidad club in his homeland.
Henriquez was on target in his Under-21 debut against Newcastle United in September but according to the Sunday People, United boss Sir Alex Ferguson believes Henriquez won’t benefit from reserve team football and wants to send the youngster on loan to a club playing in the second tier.
Henriquez scored 11 times in 17 league games for Universidad in Chile before his move to Old Trafford. United had been monitoring his progress since as far back as 2009 when he was spotted by club scouts and an agreement was then put in place giving the club first refusal if and when Universidad decided to sell him.
Barca ‘To Launch Early Bid’ for United Target
Meanwhile, reports from Spain suggest that Barcelona will put in a bid next summerfor one-time Manchester United target Neymar.
The Brazilian is believed to be set to stay with Santos in his homeland until after the 2014 World Cup but Barcelona-based newspaper El Mundo Deportivo claims the Catalan side will sell Ibrahim Afellay to help free up funds for a £40million bid a year earlier than planned.
United were linked with Neymar in September when Santos were forced to deny that the Red Devils had put in a bid for the forward. Real Madrid and Chelsea have also been linked with Neymar, who is regarded as one of the hottest properties in Brazilian football.
