Bayern Keen on Dzeko
Bayern Munich are being linked with a £20million bid for Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko.
The Daily Mail claims the German giants are set to put in the bid for the Bosnia international even though Dzeko insists his future lies at City.
“I’m not worried, because I’ve shown that I deserve to play,” he said at the weekend. “I’m still at Manchester City and I am not currently thinking about my future.”
Dzeko has also been linked with Serie A side Juventus.
The Mail also claims that Bayern will challenge City for the signature of Athletic Bilbao midfielder Javi Martinez. The paper says that Bayern director Christian Nerlinger attended Friday night’s Spanish Cup final between Athletic and Barcelona and the German side are lining up a summer bid for the Spain international.
Kompany To Reject Barca Interest
Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany is set to reject interest from Barcelona and help the Sky Blues to try and win the Champions League.
The 26-year-old is being linked with interest from Barcelona but the Daily Star claims he will reject the opportunity of a £160,000-a-week deal with the Catalan side. The paper claims that AC Milan, Juventus and Bayern Munich are also interested in the Belgium international but that he has no intention of leaving the Etihad Stadium.
“I’m happy in Manchester,” Kompany said at the weekend.
“People talk about me moving, but what interests me is Manchester City. We can’t stop with the title, we want to win the Champions League.
“Is it possible in three to four years? Maybe not, but when I see what’s been achieved at the club in the last few years, nothing is impossible.”
